So it has been a while since my last blog...things are better than then. College is coming to an end and at the same time that it is exciting and I cannot wait to start my new life and job, I do not want to leave the friends I have made and what I have known for the past four years. Don't get me wrong, I love change I just do not like the transition. Take for instance, my room mate and best friend. I have been friends with her since the first week of school and we have lived together for the past three years. We can walk into the room and know pretty quick if something is wrong with the other one. She knows me and how I react and deal with things. I know what she has a hard time with and when to let her be for a while. She is my best friend and I do not know what I am going to do without her. She will be like four hours away instead of across the room. Oh man! I guess things change all the time and we have to get used to it. Now we just have to make sure that we pick up the phone and make plans to spend vacations together. I went home for Easter break and it was soooo wierd. My brother had moved out the weekend before and my grandmother went to the ocean for Easter, so I had dinner with my mother and her boyfriend. It was strange because we normally have this big family dinner, but this year everyone seemed to go about there own lives. And it was even more wierd because I knew that I would be moving within the next four months as well. Now I understand the concept that when people move out and start their own lives they desire to start a family of their own, because for the most part it is a good thing. I know I miss it already!
But I am sooo excited for my job and life ahead of me. I am working for an organization called the Coalition for Christian Outreach as a staff worker in Elmira, NY. I will be ministering to college students and youth (middle school ages...yay!!). I have enjoyed getting to know the people I will be working with and I cannot wait till we can get together a plan for this year! I even have an apratment prospect and it seems so perfect. Hopefully I can check it out before heading out for staff training. It is so exciting!! My own place and my own life...no more asking mom for money...I hope! Wish me luck and good luck to all of you who are going through transitions!

I never thought I would meet someone who did not genuinely care for people at least a little bit, but let me tell you...I was wrong. Such people exist and it completely makes me sick. To imagine that there are people in the world that are completely self seeking and do not care what harm their actions cause blows my mind. It makes me want to scream and call them out so that they can feel the hurt that they caused me or the person that they hurt. And yet, at the same time I do not want them to think that they have won in revealing being hurt. I'm pissed and want everyone to know who they really are and what harm they have caused. At the same time I want to knock them off their high horse and leave them feeling the same shame, hurt and disgust with themselves as they have caused. I have never felt this way. I have never really ever wanted to cause anyone intentional harm until now and I do not like it. I do not think that I will cause them harm, but I want to send it into the general abyss that everyone needs to be on the look out for false, manipulative, and just plain cruel and self-seeking individuals that will do anything to get their way and make you feel that you agreed to it, when in actuality you did not. Please, I ask all of you who read this to watch out for such snakes, such schmucks, like this person who did this to me. Do not give into their faulty charms and persuasive manipulation. Be yourself, see the fakeness that lies behind it all, and cling to who you are, cling to what you know to be true. In the end, if this should fail, know that it was not your fault, it was theirs for making you think and do things you would not have done normally. It is not your fault and know that you will get through this, the pain will go away, and you will be a stronger person because of it. The most important thing is that you encourage others of these snakes and help them to avoid them. Watch out for those around you! Call out the schmucks!!! They do not deserve to live the destructive and selfish lives that they live!

In one of my classes we have been discussing the defintion of religion and how hard it is to define, I'm curious, what is your definition?

Tanning. What is with tanning, I thought of that as we left the laundry mat that is next to the local tanning booth? You would think with all the biological and technological knowledge we have today about the dangers of too much exposure to sunlight or its substitute people would see how harmful it is to our skin. The reason our skin becomes darker is because it is freaking out. Our cells die because of overexposure. It is kind of sad that appearance falls before health. This was just a curious thought.

It snowed yesterday...but not just snow it was a thunderstorm with snow. It was bizarre!! It was thundersnowing :-) I've never seen anything like it.

Well, onto a new semester. I am really liking my classes this semester so far and it looks like research won't be as hectic as it was last semester. Yay! It's also nice to get back and catch up with all of my friends here on campus.

My winter break was awesome. I spent a lot of time with my family and friends. My new nephew was born Christmas Eve. They named him Memphis Lee.... 8 lbs 10 oz...he is so cute. My dad and I are currently tied in an ongoing RISK tournament. My sister turned 8 years old and is the greatest little sister anyone could ask for. My neice, Starlynn is ac cute as ever and I road on a pony with her for her first time at my sister's birthday. I love being an aount. My mom and I celebrated our birthdays together. It is weird being old enough to go out with her, have a drink and celebrate the years passed. I like it! I started dating an amazing guy, who is a marine stationed in Hawaii. It was a great, fun and relxaing break!

Now back to the books! ;-) Mostly, but it is my senior year so I'm going to have some fun!!!

It has finally snowed. Snow makes me happy. Winter just doesn't seem right without it. I guess it just comes from living in New England for so long, but I love it. I remember sledding and building snow forts throughoout the winter with my brother. Our cheeks would get so rosy. We would stay out int he snow so long that our snow suits would be soaked. We would come back into the house and drink hot chocolate and watch movies till we were warmed up. I miss that. Hopefully I get to go sledding with mylittle sister when I get back home for winter break. I can't wait!

Ready for a new adventure

So this is the first time in my life that I have had an online journal....it should be fun :-)

Introductions....for those of you reading...
I am a senior Biology major heading out into the real world May of 2006. Despite the degree I will leave with, I am hoping to find a great career in youth ministry, hopefully developing some outdoor programs to do with them and incorporate my major. Children are great!
I am from Massachusetts, the mountainous side of the state, not Boston. It's amazing how many people assume I'm from the city, when Massachusettes is quite a big state. I have lived there all of my life, in the same big, blue house. The only thing that has changed has been the size of my family. My dad now lives a town away with my Step-mother and my little sister. She is adorable and I always wanted a little sister...I'm excited that I have her and she is the best. I imagine one day she will be an actress...she is not shy at all :-) When I am home, the 5 months out of the year I'm not here in PA at school, I live with my mom and brother, who both, thank God, have both recently broken up with their intolerable significant others...yay! So Thanksgiving I might add was one of the best because it was just the three of us.
I love my family! They have been the one constant in my life and I would do anything for them. Sending my love out to them all.
